Attendance

On Site Classes:
Attendance will be taken for this class. Students are expected to arrive on time and be in their seats for the start of class. In the event that you are late please enter the class and take a seat without disrupting your classmates or the instructor. Inform the instructor at the end of class to insure that you marked present. Failure to attend class may result in the student being dropped from the course for excessive absences.

OnLine Classes:
Attendance will be taken for online classes and will be based up the student's participation in BlackBoard and the completion of assignments by the due date. Failure to complete assignments or not logging into BlackBoard may result in the student being dropped from the course for excessive absences.

Scheduled Tests and Lab Assignments

If a student is absent when a test is scheduled then it is his/her responsibility to notify the instructor. Makeup tests will not be given if the instructor has not received notification within a reasonable time (determined by the instructor) for a scheduled test. All lab assignments are due at the end of the class time in which they are scheduled. At the discretion of the instructor, lab assignments may receive only partial credit if they are turned in late.

Grading

Grading Assessment – Assessments will include objective tests and assignments. This grading scale will be used:
90.0 - 100 A
80.0 - 89.9 B
70.0 - 79.9 C
60.0 - 69.9 D
00.0 - 59.9 F

Course Syllabus Changes

The course syllabus is subject to change at the discretion of the instructor. Changes will be handed out in written form as an addendum to the syllabus. The course goals, objectives and student competencies do not change.

Cell Phone And Beeper Policy

A classroom environment conducive for learning is the responsibility of both the instructor and students in the class. Disruptions and distractions in the classroom caused by cell phones and beepers are not conductive to classroom learning. Prior to entering a class all cell phones and beeper should be set on vibrate or turned off. Students failing to do so will be asked to leave class and may not be allowed to return to class that day at the instructor’s discretion. Cell phones are not to be used during testing. Students caught using a cell phone during testing will have violated testing procedures and be dealt with accordingly.

Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is fundamental to the process of learning and evaluating academic performance. Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, the following: cheating, plagiarism, tampering with academic records and examinations, falsifying identity, and being an accessory to acts of academic dishonesty. Refer to the Student Judicial Code for more information.

Disclaimer

Students who elect to pay tuition and fees on a payment plan are responsible for paying all remaining charges on the dates specified. Failure to pay will result in the student being withdrawn from all classes and not receiving a final grade. Mere attendance and participation does not warrant a grade without payment in a timely manner.
